Privacy Notice and Data Handling
Collection, use, sharing and retention of the information submitted here.
Coverage
What follows applies to cmmcalibrationdetroit.com and to any request submitted through it. It covers the information that arrives here, the purposes that information is put to, and the commercial basis on which a request is handled once it has been received.
This version was published 18.10.2026.
How This Site Is Paid
As a marketing and referral website, cmmcalibrationdetroit.com belongs to Detroit CMM Calibration and Repair, and it is not itself a calibration laboratory — no CMM Calibration and Repair work is carried out by the operator of this site.
External laboratories receive the requests passed to them, each with its own accreditation, its own quality management system, and certificates and reports issued in its own name. Three things decide who is chosen: current accreditation and its scope, demonstrated capability for the measurement requested, and a dependable record of delivery.
For that introduction the operator of this website receives payment, in the form of a referral fee, a fixed fee for the use of this website, or a commission on work that is placed. The price quoted remains unaffected, and the payment gives the operator no role in performing, approving or certifying any measurement. This same disclosure is stated again in the terms of service.
Data Collected
Request detail is the first category. It is whatever a quotation cannot be prepared without: your name, company, email address and telephone number; the item, the quantity, the measurement points and the tolerances; the standard required and the turnaround needed.
Technical detail is the second, and it is the ordinary record any web server keeps — IP address, browser and device type, the referring page, and the pages viewed here.
Payment card details are not collected through this website at all.
Purposes of Use
Nothing collected here is held without a purpose, and the purposes are these: to review a request, to obtain a quotation from a laboratory able to perform the work, and to correspond with you about it. Availability, security and page usage account for the technical record.
Sale is not one of the purposes. Neither is rental, nor trade, nor supply to a third party for that party to market from.
Who Information Is Shared With
Three recipients exist for request detail: the laboratory or laboratories asked to quote or perform the work; the hosting, email and analytics providers behind this site, each acting on instructions and barred from using it for their own purposes; and, where it applies, a party to whom disclosure is required by law or an accreditation body exercising a right of access to a performing laboratory's records.
Confidentiality of Technical Detail
Technical material is the most sensitive thing a request carries. Drawings, specifications, tolerances, measurement data and results are therefore treated as confidential, on the same basis as the confidentiality obligations that apply to accredited laboratory work, and are seen only by those who need them to prepare a quotation or complete the work.
Where disclosure is required by law it is made, and you are notified that it has been made unless that notification is itself prohibited.
Cookies
Only functional cookies are set, together with aggregate visit counting where analytics is enabled. Blocking and deleting cookies is possible in most browsers, and the site can still be used afterwards — with one caveat, which is that a submitted form may not be recorded correctly.
Retention Periods
Retention here is tied to need: an inquiry record is held while the request needs answering and while accounting and record-keeping obligations require it, and is then deleted or stripped of identifying detail. Records created by a laboratory that performed the work sit under that laboratory's own records policy instead.
Access, Correction and Deletion
Three requests can be made through the contact page: to be told what information is held about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. Each is answered within thirty days. Marketing email, where any is sent, carries an unsubscribe link, and an unsubscribe request is honored on receipt.
Amendment and Governing Law
Updates to this statement happen as needed, and the version then published at cmmcalibrationdetroit.com is the one that applies. This statement is subject to the laws of Michigan.
